“The industry has a content problem,” he says. “There are thousands of games being released and too many of them are variations of something that already exists.
“Part of the reason is economics. When games take months and significant money to develop, people naturally become risk-averse. Building on something that already works becomes the safer option.”

“Leadership is the single biggest determinant of an inclusive culture,” Skinner comments. “Policies matter, but individuals experience inclusion primarily through their managers. Leaders set the tone through the decisions they make, the behaviours they reward and the conversations they encourage.”

There’s no singular culprit for the Mid-Atlantic’s August casino woes but several likely factors.
The first is the ongoing cannibalization of in-person gaming by online casinos. The Mid-Atlantic is home to four of the country’s eight legal iGaming states: Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
While in-person casino revenue declined in Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, iGaming reported GGR growth in each jurisdiction. iGaming revenue in New Jersey was up 4.4%, Pennsylvania’s online casinos saw GGR climb almost 6%, and Delaware iGaming surged 35%.
